On August 15, 2026, at 6:00 p.m., the Congregation celebrated with joy the entrance of Milena Gabriela Castillo Carillo from Venezuela into the Novitiate Stage. The Eucharistic celebration took place in the Chapel of Casa Central, Mexico, and was presided over by Rev. Fr. Javier Morán Marín, C.Ss.R.

The liturgy was marked by simplicity and depth, highlighting the significance of the novitiate stage as the formal beginning of Milena’s journey into consecrated life. Surrounded by the sisters from different communities, she was welcomed with prayer and encouragement, as the congregation entrusted her vocation to the guidance of Christ the Redeemer and the maternal care of Our Mother of Perpetual Help.

This moment, though ordinary in appearance, was profoundly meaningful for Milena and for the congregation. It signified her commitment to gradually learn, love, and live more deeply the charism of evangelizing the most in need, while being formed in the spirit of the Missionaries of Our Lady of Perpetual Help.

The celebration concluded with a spirit of communion and gratitude, as the sisters expressed their support and joy for Milena Gabriela’s new chapter in religious life.

Along with the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary on August 15, 2026 at 10:00 a.m., Sr. Riza G. Cosme and I renewed our temporary vows for one year at the Regional House Chapel, Las Pinas City, Philippines. The Eucharistic celebration was presided over by Fr. Al John Provido, RCJ, and our vows were received through the Regional Superior, Sr. Annie D. Estraza, MPS.

“He has come to the help of Israel his servant, mindful of his faithful love.”

           - Luke 1:54

As I renewed my vows, I found myself looking back at the journey God and I have shared. There have been joyful and blessed moments, but also quiet seasons when I felt tired, wounded, lost, and uncertain. The more I tried to walk forward, the more I realized how much I needed God. Yet, He never failed to lift me up, gently push me to my limits, and remind me that He remains at my side.

Many times, I have asked, “My God, can You not see that I am still returning to my old ways?” And instead of condemning me, He seems to gently tap my heart with His mercy, reminding me that falling is not the end of the journey. His faithful love always gives me the courage to begin again. I may not always understand His plans, but I trust the One who called me, and I am simply a follower who tries.

The Gospel of the Visitation of Mary to Elizabeth spoke deeply to me during this renewal. When Mary received God's invitation, she “went in haste.” She trusted and moved, even without knowing everything that would happen. I experienced a little of this during my own preparation. But Mama Mary seemed to remind me: Go. Trust. Follow. And so, I did. Perhaps this is also what vocation asks of us. We make plans, but God sometimes changes the route. He does not always reveal the whole journey; He simply invites us to trust Him one step at a time.

Renewing my vows reminded me that my “yes” is not only for the beautiful and certain moments. It is also a yes in times of uncertainty, weakness, change, and waiting.

Still, now and ahead, I do not claim to have become the person I hope to be. I come simply as I am, with gratitude for the past, humility for my weaknesses, and hope for what lies ahead. He calls, I listen; He leads, I follow; and when I stumble, His faithful love helps me rise again.

And so, once again, I say: “Yes, Lord. I am here. I am still learning, still becoming, still trying, but I am Yours.”

On August 15, 2026, the Missionaries of Our Lady of Perpetual Help rejoiced with Sr. Consuelo Morales Girón as she celebrated her 50th Anniversary of Consecrated Life in the congregation. The Eucharistic celebration of thanksgiving was held at 11:00 a.m. in her hometown of Palencia, Guatemala, at the Parish of San José.

In a special way, Mother General Melissa Garza and Councilor, Lety Diáz Paredes attended, together with Sr. Rosa Amalia Torres Armendariz and Sr. Senaida Anavela Barrientos Caseros, Superiors of the USA and Centroamérica Regions. Their presence highlighted the unity of the congregation and the shared joy of this milestone.

Faith, culture, and deep gratitude intertwined on Saturday, June 27, 2026, as the Missionary Sisters of Our Lady of Perpetual Help (MPS) marked a historic double milestone. The community gathered at St. Lawrence Parish Church at 5:00 p.m. to celebrate the 60th Foundation Anniversary of the MPS missionary presence in Macau, alongside the annual Feast of Our Mother of Perpetual Help.

The celebration began with the traditional Karakol dance, performed by representatives from households that had hosted the visitation of the Icon of Our Mother of Perpetual Help. With joy and reverence, dancers carried the sacred Icon to the rhythmic beat of music, bringing a deep sense of cultural devotion to the heart of Macau. The Icon was then solemnly enthroned inside the church, and in a touching tribute, children from the Mong-Ha Lar de Jovens offered fresh flowers at the altar, symbolizing growth and the future of the mission.

The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass was presided over by Fr. Cyril Law, Parish Priest of St. Lawrence Church, together with concelebrants Fr. Franz Gassner, SVD; Fr. Ronillo Ordenes, SVD; Fr. Jose Angel Castellanos Hernandez, SVD; and Fr. Felipe Bacalso, SJ. In his homily, Fr. Cyril Law honored the sisters’ spiritual and pastoral legacy. Sixty years ago, the pioneering MPS Sisters courageously answered the call of the Gospel, establishing a mission in Macau—a land where Christianity is a minority faith. The fruits of their courage are evident in their ministry at the Mong-Ha Lar de Jovens, offering guidance and safe haven to young people; at Colégio Diocesano de São José, where their presence helped the students; and in their pastoral care for Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs), serving as a beacon of hope and a spiritual family for migrants far from home.

The congregation was beautifully represented by sisters who traveled from across the globe to join the celebration. Honored guests included Sr. Leticia Diaz from Mexico (General Council Secretary), Sr. Annie Estraza (Asia Regional Superior), Sr. Sushila Kishan from India, Sr. Mary Joy Recto and Sr. Clariza Moren from the Thailand Mission, and Sr. Regina Erecre from the Philippines. The pews of St. Lawrence were filled to capacity, reflecting the diversity of the Catholic family in Macau. Religious sisters from nine congregations, staff and children from the Mong-Ha Lar de Jovens, members of the Our Mother of Perpetual Help Devotee’s Group-Macau, and local devotees—Chinese, Portuguese, and Filipino—joined together in prayer and thanksgiving.

Following the Eucharistic celebration, the event transitioned into a lively fellowship gathering. The Missionary Sisters prepared food for all attendees, sharing stories, laughter, and friendship. This joyful gathering strengthened bonds of faith and mission support, echoing the spirit that has defined the MPS presence in Macau since 1966.

The 60th anniversary was not only a commemoration of history but also a testimony of faith flourishing in a non-Christian land. It stands as a reminder of the courage of the pioneering sisters, the enduring presence of Our Mother of Perpetual Help, and the vibrant mission that continues to inspire hope and unity in Macau today.

The spirit of St. Alphonsus Liguori was profoundly alive during the Alphonsian Gathering held on August 24, 2025, at Ville St. John Academy in Parañaque City. Hosted by the Congregation of the Sisters of St. John the Baptist (CSSJB), the annual event brought together formands and formators/superiors from various religious congregations that embody Alphonsian Spirituality. These included the Congregation of the Most Holy Redeemer (CSsR), the Missionaries of Our Lady of Perpetual Help (MPS), the Oblate Sisters of the Most Holy Redeemer (OSR), and the Congregation of the Sisters of St. John the Baptist (CSSJB).

Although the Sisters of Charity of Our Lady of Good and Perpetual Succor (BPS) and the Order of the Most Holy Redeemer (OSsR) were unable to attend this year, their presence was still felt in spirit.

The day began with registration at 6:30 AM, followed by a Eucharistic Celebration at 8:00 AM, presided over by Rev. Fr. Rufino Macasaet Jr., CSsR, and concelebrated by Rev. Fr. Bryan Espejo, CSsR. At 10:00 AM, a formative talk was delivered by Sr. Maria Victoria V. Flores, MPS, who thoughtfully unpacked the gathering's theme:

“Gathered in Hope, Sent in Love.”

She focused on the Four Pillars of Alphonsian Spirituality — the Crib, the Cross, the Eucharist, and Mary.

Following the talk, participants were divided into five reflection groups composed of formands from different congregations. Each group shared reflections on the question:

“How can we, as sisters and brothers of our respective congregations, strengthen the Four Pillars of Alphonsian Spirituality in our life?”

A fellowship lunch followed, providing time for informal sharing and joyful bonding. In the afternoon, the groups presented the fruits of their reflection through creative and heartfelt presentations. This was followed by group games, which added an element of fun and camaraderie to the day. The gathering concluded with a solemn prayer of thanksgiving, sealing the experience in gratitude and renewed commitment to the Alphonsian mission.

The day was more than just a gathering; it was a vibrant celebration of shared identity and mission. Though coming from different congregations, we are all united in the spirit of St. Alphonsus. Each of us has courageously journeyed from the “cribs” of our personal stories into the richness of Alphonsian Spirituality — beholding the Crib of Christ, embracing His Cross, celebrating His love in the Eucharist, and walking with Mary, our model of faith, hope and love.

As we closed the celebration, we could truly say that we were “Gathered in Hope, Sent in Love” — a people renewed in living out the Four Pillars of Alphonsian Spirituality.

On the joyous occasion of the Feast of the Assumption, August 15, 2025, we celebrated two significant milestones in the life of our religious community—the Investiture of Postulant Reizalee Razel D. Guzman and the Renewal of the Vows of Chastity, Poverty, and Obedience of Sr. Joan P. Tidalgo and Sr. Janeth M. Torres.

The Eucharistic Celebration took place at the Novitiate House in Biñan, Laguna, at 10 o’clock in the morning, and was presided over by Rev. Fr. Jayson T. Siapco. It was a deeply moving and solemn occasion, made even more special by the presence of Post. Reiza’s family and the sisters from various communities within Metro Manila.

During his homily, Fr. Jayson offered a heartfelt reflection on the demands and beauty of religious life. As her Spiritual Director, he shared how he had witnessed Post. Reizalee’s journey of discernment. He reminded us that choosing this path is not easy. There will be moments of doubt, struggle, and even the temptation to walk away. Yet, he emphasized, that is where grace is found—in remaining faithful through the hardships. He shared that once we overcome the most difficult moments in our journey, future trials and temptations become more bearable and no longer shake us as they once did.

The Investiture marked a beautiful new beginning for Reiza, who now officially begins her novitiate journey.

On the other hand, the Renewal of the Vows of Chastity, Poverty, and Obedience for another two years by our dear sisters Sr. Joan and Sr. Janeth was an earnest reaffirmation of their commitment to continue following Jesus Christ, our Redeemer, and to radiate His merciful love to the poor and most abandoned.

It was a day filled with grace, hope, and inspiration—a tender testimony to God’s faithfulness, revealed through the courageous ‘yes’ of three women who continue to offer their lives in joyful service to the Church, the congregation and the people of God.

Reflecting on this year’s theme, “Journeying Together with Mary, the Mother of Hope,” we gratefully recognized the selfless love and guidance of our Blessed Mother Mary throughout our shared journey. This grace-filled celebration became even more meaningful as it closely coincided with two important feasts: The Solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus on June 27 and the Memorial of the Immaculate Heart of Mary on June 28. These feasts remind us of the deep bond of love between Jesus and Mary, so beautifully depicted in the icon of Our Mother of Perpetual Help.

In Macau, the community gathered on June 26 at San Agustin Church for the Holy Mass at 7:30 PM, celebrated by Fr. Sheldon Eric D'Souza. After the Mass, everyone came together to share the joy and love of God through an agape meal at the Pastoral Center.

In India, two communities—Banabira and Bangalore—celebrated the feast on the same day. In Banabira, the sisters, together with the hostel boys and guests, held a simple yet meaningful celebration. The Mass was celebrated at 5:30 AM by Fr. Augustine Lakra at the parish church, Mother Mary Queen of the Destitute. In Bangalore, the Eucharistic celebration was held at 5:00 pm in the convent chapel and was presided over by Fr. Francis Ezhanikatt, CSsR, with seven priests concelebrating— the parish priest, two Pallotine fathers, two Dominicans, and two Redemptorist Priests. The occasion was made even more special by the presence of 12 additional Redemptorist fathers and friends of our Congregation here in India. In both celebrations, they also thank the Lord for the Anniversary in the Religious Profession of Srs. Maria Theresa, Vandana, Ranjita, and Sushila.

In the Philippines, on June 28, sisters from various MPS communities in Metro Manila, along with our lay partners (LAMPS), gathered for the Holy Mass at 10:00 AM at the MPS Betterliving Mission Community in Parañaque City, followed by a sumptuous fellowship meal. The Mass was presided over by Rev. Fr. Rico John Bilangel, CSsR, and concelebrated by Rev. Fr. Eric Sevencruz, CSsR. It was a beautiful celebration that reminded us of the

With deep joy and devotion, three communities in the Philippines—the Regional House and Dormitory Community in Las Piñas, and the Novitiate House in Biñan, Laguna—simultaneously celebrated the novena and feast day of Our Mother of Perpetual Help. The novena was held in advance from June 9 to 16, 2025, culminating in the celebration of the feast day on June 18, 2025.

Guided by the theme, “Journeying Together with Mary, the Mother of Hope,” the communities joined in this sacred celebration with parishioners, benefactors, and friends, growing together in faith through prayer, fellowship, and the Eucharist.

In Las Piñas City, the Regional and Dormitory Community marked the feast day with a solemn Mass at the Parish of the Supper of Our Lord at 7:00 a.m. The Eucharistic celebration was presided over by Most Reverend Elias L. Ayuban Jr., CMF, DD, JCD, Bishop of Cubao, and concelebrated by Fr. Kevin Cosme, the parish priest, and Fr. Eric Terrel. After the Mass, a simple fellowship brought everyone together in joy and gratitude.

On the same day, the Novitiate Community in Biñan celebrated the Eucharist at the Blessed Sacrament Parish at 10:00 a.m., presided over by the new parish priest, Fr. Charlie Argente, OSJ. Their celebration also concluded with a shared meal and warm fellowship.

Though held in different locations, the celebrations were united in spirit and purpose. This shared devotion to Our Mother of Perpetual Help reminded everyone that even across distances, we journey together—with Mary, our Mother of Hope—trusting in her intercession and drawing strength from one another in faith and mission.

On June 24, 2025, the MPS Asia Region celebrated with joy and gratitude the Perpetual Profession of Sr. Clariza B. Moren, mps, and Sr. Anna Flor P. Padao, mps. The Eucharistic Celebration was held at 9:00 a.m. at the Blessed Sacrament Parish in Biñan, Laguna. It was presided over by Rev. Fr. Rico John Bilangel, CSsR, together with several concelebrating priests.

During the celebration, the two sisters made their Perpetual Vows of Chastity, Poverty, and Obedience—offering their whole lives to God and the mission of the Church and the Congregation.

In his homily, Fr. Rico John reflected on the words of Jesus: “Remain in my love,” which was the chosen theme of the celebration. He encouraged the sisters, as well as the entire community, to embrace this invitation through the vows they had professed. To remain in His love, he said, is to live:

           Chastity

            – a love that is free and inclusive, reaching out especially to the poor, the lost, and the forgotten;

           Poverty

            – a life of simplicity and radical trust, letting go of control, possessions, and security, and placing everything in God’s hands;

           Obedience

            – a heart that listens and responds to God’s will with love and freedom, even when it is difficult.

These vows are not just obligations, but expressions of love and trust—ways of allowing God to take deeper root in one’s life.

As part of his message, Fr. Rico John also affirmed the identity and mission of the sisters as MPS: “

After the Mass, everyone gathered for a simple fellowship meal at the Novitiate House Hall, sharing in the joy of the occasion and giving thanks for the sisters’ generous “yes” to God.

This celebration was a beautiful reminder of God's love and faithfulness. As Sr. Clariza and Sr. Anna Flor begin this new chapter, may they, through the loving intercession of Our Mother of Perpetual Help, always remain in His love through “

as we commemorated the seventy-fifth anniversary of our missionary presence in the United States of America. The celebration began with an evening of prayer on Friday, July 11, and continued with the Eucharist the following morning, Saturday, July 12, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in San Antonio, Texas—the place where the first sisters arrived in 1950.

On both occasions, we were joined by people from near and far, from different parishes where our sisters currently serve, as well as those where we no longer have the privilege of walking together in mission. The Congregation of the Most Holy Redeemer, the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate, the Vincentian Fathers, along with other diocesan priests and permanent deacons, helped lead us in prayers of thanksgiving during Friday’s evening prayer and Saturday morning’s Eucharist. We also had the honor of welcoming Mother General Melissa Garza Escobedo, four sisters from the General Council, and a sister representing the Province of Mexico for this once-in-a-lifetime occasion.

Personally, I was deeply moved by God’s infinite love and faithfulness throughout these years, and by how we are continually invited to be instruments of redemption. Having had my initial formation in various communities in Texas—such as San Antonio, Eagle Pass, Cotulla, Quemado, Seco Mines, and Big Wells—as well as in the northeastern states of Massachusetts, New York, and Maryland, filled me with great gratitude to reunite with some and to pray for those who have gone before us. I thank God and Our Mother of Perpetual Help for allowing me to be part of this celebration, for it was thanks to the missions in the USA that I first encountered the congregation more than fifteen years ago, when the sisters came to my home parish in Gulfport, Florida, and invited me to embrace the missionary vocation as a consecrated woman.

Thank you, sisters, for your witness. Let us continue to pray for one another and for the missions entrusted to us.

Walking Together Toward Renewal: Our Restructuring Journey Enters Its Third Phase

Since September2024, our congregation has been walking a path of deep reflection and transformation through an ongoing process of restructuring. Guided by an external assessor, Ms. Patricia Castilleja de León and with the accompaniment of the General Government, this journey is not simply about changing structures—it is about renewing the very heart of our consecrated life and mission in today’s world.

We have now entered the third phase of the process, having completed two important foundational stages: the Sensibilization, which invited us to open our eyes and hearts to the signs of the times and recognize the call to transformation, and the Significado Común, a crucial moment of communal discernment in which we sought to find a common meaning of restructuring, grounding it in our shared charism, mission, and identity.

We are now courageously stepping into the third phase: Renewal of Life, which encompasses three interconnected dimensions: reconfiguration, resignification, and restructuration. This a time of courageous listening --- a phase challenges us to look inward and outward — to rediscover the beauty of our vocation, to reimagine our community life, and to discern new ways of organizing ourselves. It calls us to renew our way of living, relating, organizing, and serving—so that our structures may better support the vitality of our vocation and mission.

Throughout this journey, the congregation has actively engaged in: virtual assemblies and ongoing consultations, monthly recollections based on key themes, fostering personal, community, and regional/provincial reflection and sharing; and the Regular accompaniment by the General Government and appointed delegates across regions and provinces

While initial hesitations and resistance were part of the journey—as is natural in any true process of transformation—there has been a growing openness and participation among the sisters. The willingness to listen, reflect, and walk together is shaping a future that honors both our roots and the newness the Spirit is unfolding among us. This is a sign of a congregation willing to walk together in trust, to embrace change with discernment and faith.

This restructuring process is not an end, but a dynamism in service of life. It seeks to renew the life of the Institute, helping us rediscover the richness of our call and respond more meaningfully to the needs of our mission and the people entrusted to our care.

Let us remain united—rooted in our charism, open to the Spirit, and hopeful for the future—as we continue walking this path of renewal together.
