Coat of Arms

The official seal of the Congregation is designed with elements framed in an elliptical field: a cross with three small hills as its base.  On both sides of the cross are the spear and the sponge planted on the base of the cross, slighthly slanted forming an angular position from the base.  ON the upper part of the cross is a star with descending rays and with letter "M" at the center which corresponds to the name of Mary.  In the interior part of the upper border line of the ellipse is the motto, "MARIA SUCURRE MISERIS" which means "Mary help the helpless!" and in the lower part is the title 'MISSIONARIAE DE PERPETUO SUCCURSU" which means "Missionaries of Perpetual Help".
