A Golden Jubilee of Consecrated Life in Gratitude to God
“My soul magnifies the Lord, for He has done great things for me.” (Luke 1:46)
On August 15, 2026, the Missionaries of Our Lady of Perpetual Help rejoiced with Sr. Consuelo Morales Girón as she celebrated her 50th Anniversary of Consecrated Life in the congregation. The Eucharistic celebration of thanksgiving was held at 11:00 a.m. in her hometown of Palencia, Guatemala, at the Parish of San José.
The Mass was presided over by Cardinal Álvaro Leonel Ramazzini, with the concelebration of the parish priest and Fr. Edmundo Molina, C.Ss.R. The liturgy was a profound moment of gratitude, joy, and renewal, honoring Sr. Consuelo’s five decades of faithful service to God and the congregation.
The celebration was graced by the presence of her family—siblings, in-laws, nieces, nephews, and friends—as well as sisters from the Region. In a special way, Mother General Melissa Garza and Councilor, Lety Diáz Paredes attended, together with Sr. Rosa Amalia Torres Armendariz and Sr. Senaida Anavela Barrientos Caseros, Superiors of the USA and Centroamérica Regions. Their presence highlighted the unity of the congregation and the shared joy of this milestone. After the Eucharist, a reception was held at Café Lo de Silva in Cantón Agua Tibia, Palencia, where family, friends, and sisters gathered in fellowship to continue the thanksgiving.
Sr. Consuelo expressed her heartfelt gratitude to God for His call, for naming her personally, and for sustaining her through the years of consecrated life. She also thanked the congregation for its accompaniment and support in her journey of faith, embracing the charism of evangelizing the most in need. Her Golden Jubilee stands as a testimony of fidelity, perseverance, and love—a shining witness of God’s providence and the beauty of consecrated life.
