Walking Together Toward Renewal: Our Restructuring Journey Enters Its Third Phase
Since September2024, our congregation has been walking a path of deep reflection and transformation through an ongoing process of restructuring. Guided by an external assessor, Ms. Patricia Castilleja de León and with the accompaniment of the General Government, this journey is not simply about changing structures—it is about renewing the very heart of our consecrated life and mission in today’s world.
We have now entered the third phase of the process, having completed two important foundational stages: the Sensibilization, which invited us to open our eyes and hearts to the signs of the times and recognize the call to transformation, and the Significado Común, a crucial moment of communal discernment in which we sought to find a common meaning of restructuring, grounding it in our shared charism, mission, and identity.
We are now courageously stepping into the third phase: Renewal of Life, which encompasses three interconnected dimensions: reconfiguration, resignification, and restructuration. This a time of courageous listening --- a phase challenges us to look inward and outward — to rediscover the beauty of our vocation, to reimagine our community life, and to discern new ways of organizing ourselves. It calls us to renew our way of living, relating, organizing, and serving—so that our structures may better support the vitality of our vocation and mission.
Throughout this journey, the congregation has actively engaged in: virtual assemblies and ongoing consultations, monthly recollections based on key themes, fostering personal, community, and regional/provincial reflection and sharing; and the Regular accompaniment by the General Government and appointed delegates across regions and provinces
While initial hesitations and resistance were part of the journey—as is natural in any true process of transformation—there has been a growing openness and participation among the sisters. The willingness to listen, reflect, and walk together is shaping a future that honors both our roots and the newness the Spirit is unfolding among us. This is a sign of a congregation willing to walk together in trust, to embrace change with discernment and faith.
This restructuring process is not an end, but a dynamism in service of life. It seeks to renew the life of the Institute, helping us rediscover the richness of our call and respond more meaningfully to the needs of our mission and the people entrusted to our care.
Let us remain united—rooted in our charism, open to the Spirit, and hopeful for the future—as we continue walking this path of renewal together.
